Plug-in to solve hardware/software sampling conflict

I own a MOTU 8pre that I recently used to record the audio portion of videotaping of several bands at a sampling rate of 48000. At one point the connection was lost between my 8pre and my laptop and I had to reboot; unnoticed by me, when I rebooted, my software (Adobe Audition) reset its sampling rate to 44100, so that thereafter my hardware was sampling at 48000 while my software was simultaneously sampling at 44100. The resulting sound files has a clicking noise and are warbled; when magnified, the sound waves have an amplitude that alternates between high and low for every other wave.

Does anyone know of any software or software plug-ins that can correct such files (including for the Mac and Digital Performer); or any companies or specialists that have the ability to correct such files; or any place I could turn to for help in at least improving in some kind of way the files?

Any suggestions would be very much appreciated.

Hate it say it, but I think you're screwed. DP 5.12 has an option to fix tracks recorded at the wrong sample rate, but I don't know if it will fix your noise (it might just fix the speed). It might be worth giving it a try though.
