hi,

wondering if there are any Nord Stage users in the Nation? I'm thinking about selling my electro to get one of these, will I regret it? love it? any advice? thanks!

It depends, why do you want it over what you have?

well I love my electro for it's ease of use & the sounds, but I really wish it could do splits/layers & that the pianos were better - hence the stage.

The Electro is about the most fun keyboard out there for players, you know what I'm talking about. However, the Stage does take it to a completely different animal by also incorporating a powerful analog modeling style of synth as well as some decent pianos. The pianos are far from great, but in a live setting their useable..... but I wouldn't buy the Stage just for piano, there are other options I feel are better. But for the classic keys sounds, nothing else comes close. If your biggest concern is better piano, look at a Kurzweil ME1 for something cost-effective, but a better sound.

is the ME-1 any different then the original micropiano? I've got that & honestly lately the piano in the electro sounds better on stage than the micro.

The KMP1 was based off the original PC88 and is quite old. In its day, it was great...in its day. The ME1 isn't that at all, in fact it's basically a PC2 sound engine. Piano Modules don't exist today, but this is the closest to one. It's inexpensive, it has lots of excellent acoustic type sounds with a killer piano without spending a lot of money. The catch.... it's 32-voice polyphony.
