hi there.
i have the 828mk2 usb and i use it with a macbook and logic pro.
i thought it was the perfect interface until i had some serious issues.

1.no matter what sample rate i have selected, when i start up logic it goes to 48k
2.this is a serious one. no matter how many channels i record simultaneously,i have cracking and hamming recorded in the audio files (!).
i mean ,while i'm recording it seems as everything is ok but when i playback the recorded audio files they have -very audible- noise, pops, cracks - you name it.

here is an example

*edit here is a more obvious example

i changed the usb cord, every usb port but the problem persists.
help,i don't want to send it back

I have the mkII also, while I haven't had the crackling problem I have heard that they are sensitive to voltage flucuations. A power conditioner might solve your problem. Furman makes several models.

thanx for your reply :D

forgive my ignorance, can i use a ups instead of a power conditioner?
i'm asking because i don't want to give 150 and find out that it didn't solve the problem,it will be pretty useless then.

I guess that would work if the ups unit keeps the output voltage at 120. I'm not sure that they work that way, more of a surge protector type unit I thought. I have seen this problem with MIDI units when I do live sound and the electricity is flucuating. Some units quit immeadiately.
Check the web, there should be some deals on power conditioners out there.

What is your buffer size set to in Logic when this occurs? Does the crackling happen when you play iTunes or something through the 828?

Your 828 is switching sample rates because your Logic project is set to 48, most likely.

lol .it's almost embarassing but i admit that was the problem (!).
i had never changed the sample rate in logic or motu,i don't know what it happened to my autoload. thanx

it doesn't matter how much latency i have or how many tracks i record simultaneously. this ranom dc buzzing persists. i'll buy a ups and i'll give feedback
