It rocks, Pete.
Dig the wide "Lukather" vibrato, man.
Please be sure to post it once you're done mixing!
I can't afford to buy music anymore, so I collect what I can from the "Showcase" forum.

Hey HCM-HCMarkus wrote:Sounds excellent, but I need to hear some shaker or tambourine or both to liven up the Hi Hat/Ride area of the frequency spectrum. Track a quick tambourine playing eighth notes and slamming with the snare plus acoustic guitar jangle/mute tracks to pick things up, and you will have a winner.
Thanks man,.
I wouldn't have thought of your suggestions in a million years,.. the beauty of sharing on forums such as these.
I will give it a go,..
Thank you guys for listening and commenting,.. most appreciated.

Peter

Really nice playing and riffing on this tune. I'm hearing it on some of those crappy little Genelecs, and this may be a personal taste thing, but I think there's too much distortion on the lead guitar. That could be an artifact of converting to MP3. Might benefit from a bit of shelf around 500K. Otherwise, impressive for a non-mix.
Musically, this compares well to ZZ Top, circa Rio Grande Mud, which is to say... nice!

It's grown on me over the last week.
I especially like some of your (lead) note choices, Pete.
Oh, and of course that Lukather vibrato.
