MSI won't load samples....help!

I updated to MSI v 1.1.3, because my Intel MacBook Pro was not giving me MSI as an option when creating an instrument track in DP5 (universal binary version).
Now, MSI will open, but will not load any samples. I have checked and the msi.dat file is where I left it in library/application support/MOTU/msi along with the msi.bundle.
What am I missing? Any ideas?
At least before the update I could use it as a standalone instrument and could use it for playback in DP using IAC! Though if I tried to record on a track it wouldn't let me record enable it as it said it would create a loop.
