This is a message to all Motu / Unicornation users..
If possible could you provide your system specs for the following.

DUAL 896HD (Without sync issues)

1. What is your motherboard (Make + Model) ?
2. What processor type + speed (single or dual) ?
3. What is the ram type + hard drive(s) (amount installed) ?
4. What firewire hardware are you using ?
5. What is your operating system (OS + service packs if any) ?
6. What video card are you using ?
7. What is your sample rate + latency ?
8. What is the configuration (motu panel + physical connectivity) ?
9 What other plug in components are in use ?

Just trying to see what's out there and what actually works consistently with this type setup....

thanks

My setup

Dell 650 Precision Workstation
2 Intel Zenon CPU's 3ghz
3 gig of 3200 ram
Nvidia dual head video card
adaptec SATA PCI card/w
2 120gig Maxtor SATA drives
onboard FW buss (TI chipset)
2 896HD's both on FW
Win XP pro sp1
Sonar5 producer version

I usually record @ 96/24. I have a very short AES/EBU hook up out of MOTU #2 into MOTU #1 so I can cuemix monitor both. I have tweeked the computer for just the studio so no extra sevices are running. I used to have a sync problem between the two units but traced the problem to the onboard nic (network card) was polling the CPU and disrupting the FW buss. I diabled the nic in BIOS and all is well now. I believe my buffers are set at 512. Hope that helps.
