Here's the fix!!!!!!

Uninstall all machfive stuff. except for your machfive soundfolder and sounds.

Reinstall only the MachFive 1.2.3 update and UVIX 1.2 update.

For some reason the installer put's the MachFive 1.2.3 plugin in the
Digidesign/plug-ins (alias) folder. Take the MachFive 1.2.3 plugin
out of their and drag it in to (Library/application support/digidesign/Plug-ins
) folder and open up Pro Tools!!!!!!!!

ENJOY!

Good going, trailmix.

You should submit this discovery to MOTU. There are other problems with the 1.2.3 installer with different audio formats. When I installed it on my computer, the update didn't actually update the proper files-- and I also had to do quite a bit manually to get it to work.

From the sound of things, it doesn't appear to have been fixed since 1.2.3 remains available as a download.

And BTW:

Thanks so much for actually posting your solution to the problem!! Lots of people, I'm sure, will appreciate it.

Hey y'all,

Is this just a fix for Mach5 and Pro Tools? I'm looking for the DP/Mach5 solution.

What's happening on your system? Where do you need help with it?

Thanks for asking, but it's just that Mach 5 won't work w/my Mac Pro and DP.

Ah. The answer to this is easy, even if it is a little disappointing.

Currently, there is no UB version of MachFive. M5v2 has been released to at least one magazine for reviewing (Emusician current issue), but v2 will be the first version of MachFive *intended to* will work on the MacPros.

I say *intended* because some are wrestling with Rosetta as a solution. I've stayed away from trying that, though.

No telling when MachFive2 will be released. Whenever it is released, it is likely to come as a surprise especially since its announcement in January of 2005 is now 2.5 years old.

Yeah, I've been following the other threads about this, but had a glimmer of hope when I saw this current thread.

I'm a huge MOTU fan and luckily I've been able to work around this issue, but jeez...let's get going, man!

Thanks for the reply, oh wise Frodo.
