Looks a like it since waves functions were running. Try removing the MAS versions of Waves and reload DP.

Yea your right. I just opened a new session with no plugs and it works fine. It's waves alright.

are you on PPC or Intel?

If PPC, go get fish fillets, there is a good de-esser in there! And it's free.

Timeline- I know it's not related as I have no Waves, but my system has been getting a bit buggy the last 10 days as well, a few KP's ,Freezes and COQ ,still in 10.48 system ran DW and fixed permissions several times and no problems found,(I suspect it's Magma or connections or seating of cards.)(I added 2 more UAD1 cards 2 weeks ago)PPC was running great until then, hard to understand how systems get weird, hope you straighten it out.

Strangly enough, I had 2 kernel panics on my Intel last week when I left DP up and running for over an hour untouched. I thought it might be the additional UAD card. However, I've not had one since and doing all the same things as before.

Strange. Very strange.

Well I went back to the track i was working on and replaced 5 instances of waves and the problem disappeared. So, it looks again like I will have to find a deEsser for vocals that works as good as the Waves.

I called my friend at UA and offered my services for a Precision DeEsser.
I designed one in my head that would include 4 separate bands. One for sses, one for shoshes, two bands for pops. Variable q, depth, threshold each band and listen on each band with a spectrum analyzer.

What do you think Grim, wanna build it instead?

I doubt it's the UA cards.

Hehe, if I had TIME ! :) UAD really needs one.

Well on my system the ONLY thing I added was the UAD card and the panics started. BUT, they've stopped so who knows.

Yup, you are right, I did install that as well. Though I've added no new plugins.

I looked at the crash log and to ME it looked like a memory issue, not UAD. But, the strange part, it hasn't happened again.

I also notice if I want a quick crash, start edge editing audio files I am ripping the breathing noises out of vocals. Though, could be Melodyne sitting on that track or something.

Timeline, you could move to Waves AU. It's a pain, but may be worthwhile, especially in light of the news Shooshie reported: Waves is dumping MAS but will support AU within DP. So you're gonna' probably make the move someday anyway... The fact you can save Waves Presets then load a MAS plug's preset in an AU plug makes the idea less daunting.
