Intel Mach 5

Does anybody know if this software sampler is dead in the water? Well past a year with no mention of an update whatsoever. I think that's a first for MOTU. Whoops-NOT, how quickly I forget: Unisyn, Mosaic and Freestyle. Yeah, I've moved onto Kontakt 2 but I hate NI's stupid authorization nightmare. (I'm trying to replace the app drive on my G5 and its way too time consuming), not that I'm fond of my USB hogging iloks for Mach 5 and Ethno.

I'm still waiting myself. I am 'this' close to buying Kontakt2 because Nanosampler is at the edge of unusable for me. For some things it is great, for others, a nightmare wrapped up in an enigma

It's coming, near as I can tell.
The fact that it feels like the wave is about to break means it's imminent.

That's what I kept thinking for the last three months...especially the quietness at MOTU. I can't imagine it not getting a lot of new stuff, but the problem is, I need something now.
Don't get me wrong, it was my choice to go to Intel, it's just they have released everything else Intel....

You heard what Shooshie said, Grimey?
I can't rightly remember, but I got the distinct feeling he's in the know on this one.
Besides, I said last year that I thought MOTU would have wanted to show it off in January, but had spent so much time/resources on cleaning DP up for us that this mightn't be possible.
After all, the volume, figuratively and literally, of posts by dissatisfied users on the stability issue was scary, and a potential PR nightmare.
They had to do it, concentrate on all dem buggies Q3 2006.
In fact, I thought January might have seen DP 5.5 followed by MachV II to maintain the hype, or vice versa.
Given the noise level and customer "loss" with MachV and the fact that DP users are quiet for now, you'd have to give Machy the edge at the moment.
Additionally, the site's been stone dead for a while now (no changes), and that's always a good sign.
Chin up; Machy's on her way, mate.

How about posting this in the "MachFive" forum maybe???? Please try to post in the proper forum so I don't have to move these things around. Thanks.

You can merge your iLoks into one so you don't have a bunch of used USB ports. You can manage them on the iLok website. I have Mach V, Ethno Insrument and MSI all on one iLok.
Take care -

I know this subject has been beat into the ground, but I just got a gig where I need to be mobile... My laptop is an Intel... it's such a drag... I NEED Mach5... and with this deadline, I can't be converting my Mach5 libraries into Kontakt or whatever...
It really blows... even IF Mach5 v2 was released soon I'd still have to wait for it to be shipped to me...
Pisses me off, actually....
I hate to bitch and moan about this over and over, but I finally hit a wall.

I feel for ya, RC.
Frustratingly, I can't seem to think of a temp (or any) solution for you.
Sure, you can always buy MachV II down the track, but a cheap/interim solution evades me too, I'm afraid.
One thought only... could you borrow/hire a PPC laptop for the gig and use MachV I?
Sorry about your dilemma; you hung in there like a trooper (between all those sighs!).

I posted a reply to you in the thread titled ("wait a minute.....") about running Dp and M5 under rosetta. Try it and let me know if it solves your crisis.
