How many people just audio record?

After reading on this boars for many months, seeing problems pop up and other's suggestions to those problems, I wonder how many people only use DP for audio. I do use MIDI, but it is mostly for scratch recordings to aid in the development of songs. When it comes down to the acutal recording 95% of it is all audio. I play VI's though my powerbook and record them as audio on my G5.
The reason I am asking is that aside from a plugin problem I had, DP has been great, really soild. I read about people frustrations and feel like it is enevitable for these problems to occur with me.
Just some thoughts.....

I use DP 95% audio/5% MIDI.
Maybe that's gonna change , but for know, mostly audio....
I use it daily on a powerbook for reverb when I do live enginering jobs and for recording, and on my G5 mainly to mix the projects I recorded live on the powerbook and other editing.
DP 4.52 has been the most stable version so far ( 4.12 was good too! )

Lately, 80% VI, 20% audio. This despite the fact I can run far, far more VI's in Logic. I really hope MOTU continues to optimize DP for VIs lest Logic become "the" VI app, while DP becomes thought of as merely a poor mans PT.
btw - Although I'm heavy into VIs of late. DP 4.52, and 4.5 before it, virtually *do not* crash on my system.

Almost 100% audio. I started trying to learn to use Live and some recently acquired VIs, but other than experiementation and trying to do somehing new, all audio all the time. I used to use MIDI quite a bit but grew very tired of it. I still have a bunch of my old MIDI hardware plugged in a ready to go in case the mood strikes.

Interesting.
I'm 50-50. I MIDI compose and record VIs and live instruments into DP.
Don't think I ever would've bought it if my work were exclusively recording. As it is, I endeavor to be a jack-of-both-trades. But, I think its strength is its composition tool set.

Aside from a little bit of playing around with MIDI, all of my work has been with audio. Generally I record vocals (either lesson or recital) on a MiniDisc and then feed that into DP 4.52 for editing and processing. I usually handle about 18 to 22 hours of recordings per week and I have never had any issue with either DP or OSX (beyond an initial configuration problem which got resolved quickly). I would not be concerned about an "inevitable" problem occurring as most of the problems that are mentioned on this board seem to be a result of configuration and/or routing issues with either DP itself or with OSX. A caveat here, as with any software, there is no such thing as "bug free" software (hence the reason for patch releases). Having said that, MOTU has an excellent support team and the software engineers continue to work to fix issues with their software. One final note, I am a long way from being a "professional" sound engineer so I definitly am not pushing DP to its limits. There are numerous people on this board who ARE professional and use this DP daily, and from what I have experienced, they are very willing to help out with issues that may appear.
Cheers

That may be true. When I got into DP I had primarily a MIDI studio and had been using Performer since version 1.2. Yes, I used it for it's convenience as a composer. By the time I decided to go the digital audio route (after putting my Adats to rest) the obvious choice was DP, since I was already quite familiar with the Performer layout and functions. I think generally DP is a wonderful audio program regardless of it's MIDI capabilities. It does have it's issues but at this point in the technological race for native perfection, they all do.

I do quite a lot of MIDI tracks that get dropped into audio tracks. Mixing is all audio.
