vacuum tube replacement

Post by navanr »

Hi there new user here, I have a quick question I'm looking to replace my vacuum tubes in my DBX 386 does anyone know a good website or any ideas of what brands I should be looking for. I'm willing to pay 150 each for them. I'm looking for a good solid sound. Thanks.

My guitar player replaced the 12ax7s for his Blue Voodoo head with Sovteks and it sounds amazing. He paid far less for them than $150 I believe.

Wow! I can remember when 12AX7s were about $1.50 a piece.

You need 12AU7 tubes for the 386. Put either Mullards or Telefunken tubes in it, you'll be very pleased. I used to hate my 386, unitl I put NOS Telefunken's in it, it compares to my other pres that cost triple.

tubedepot.com is good.
