Dear All!
Please, tell me do 828 Mk2 and Traveler have the same preamps and AD/DA convertors? I can't find it on motu.com . . .

I asked the same thing and emailed Black Lion Audio and he said the Traveler had better converters and preamps. That's all he said though, not too specific.

Ok guys!

I will ask you a question another way!
If you had a choice between 828 Mk2 and Traveler, what would you choose?

I'm in the same boat. I'm probably not going to buy until another couple of months, but I really don't need the extra mic pre's. Also given that 828mkii's go for less than $500 on eBay, I was going to get a used 828ii and send it to blacklionaudio.com and get it modded. Supposedly from the reviews on this board the quality is much higher after modded. That's my thinking anyway...

it really depends. if you plan on doing mobile recording, i'd probably go with the traveler. it's a great little unit.
if it's gonna be racked in the studio, well, you could really go either way.

So, you mean the results will be the same? I don't mind about Traveler's 192 kHz and portability . . .

Try not to overanalyze. If your on a powerbook, just go Traveler. If not, save some dough and go 828. They're very similar. Just start making music. They both are very good.
