Does MachFive not work with OSX 10.4.8?

I haven't used MachFive in a while --- I gave up and bought Kontakt 2 --- but I was trying to use it for a session and it seems not to work anymore. It crashes Digital Performer. This is on both our studio's G5 desktop and my Powerbook!

The only thing I have changed is that we upgraded to OSX 10.4.8 a few months ago.

I really need to open it... we want to use the MachFive Boesendorfer piano, which is really dark-sounding in a really interesting way. It doesn't sound like anything else. Our studio has NI Akoustik piano software and also a real Boesendorfer, believe it or not. But the MachFive Boesendorfer has a particular character.

Anyone using MachFive w/ OSX 10.4.8? Lemme know! Thanks.

I'm using 10.4.8 with no problem. I know you say the only thing that's changed is the OS, but did you by any chance go from DP 5 to 5.11? That requires an update to M5, as I recall. It's on the MOTU website. Good luck.

You have to update to the latest MachFive. Go to MOTU.com and download. Problem will be gone.

EDIT: gavspan beat me to it...

Make sure you've got MachFive 1.2.3 installed. It seems like the 1.2.3 installer doesn't replace the MAS plug-in properly, so go to /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/MAS and delete "MachFive MAS.bundle" before running the 1.2.3 installer.

THANK YOU
