New Boot Drive and Migration Assistant

I installed a new boot drive today into a G4, 1.25GHz dual.
I used the Migration tool to take my apps from the old drive to the new one. Both are internal, by the way.
Upon trying to boot DP 5.11, it gets to an "open" prompt. When I either choose a song file or hit new, or even cancel, it hangs or crashes.
Do I have to reauth? Or? I know I've been down this path before, but can't remember the fix.
Please help if possible.
