Headphone Amp

Hey, I have the MOTU 8pre and want to invest in headphones for recording. Is there anyway (maybe specific products?) to give each individual headphone different volume level? (The guitar can hear everyone, but his guitar is the loudest, bass can hear everyone, but can hear his bass the loudest) I know it's something with the ADAT but I cannot find any products... I'm a noob.

BTW I'm running GarargeBand/Logic (If I can figure out how to use it) on MacBook Pro with 8pre. Need a minimum of 4 custom volumed headphones.

Thanks

Thats the one drawback with the 8pre is that you only have the "main outs" and the "phone outs" on the front.

This limits you somewhat in what you can do...you could send one mix to the headphones and one mix the mains though...then use the headphone amp to distribute that signal.

Unless you setup an interface with outs on the ADAT there isnt much more you can do.

What the above poster said.
However an inexpensive solution would be the Behringer ADA8000 (~ $150 used). Connect that to the adat outs and you could then get 4 seperate stereo mixes to a HP distribution amp.
Otherwise your choices are limited. Thatw as why i didn't go with the 8 pre, I needed more than 2 outs.

If you're using OSX, you could also create an aggregate device with the built-in outputs to add another stereo pair.

Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but while the inputs on the ada8000 are great bang for the buck, the couple of times I tried using the outs, they were really bad.
