Apple Loops in DP 4.52

Although I have read that DP 4.52 imports Apple Loops, I have not been able to find any specific information on how to manipulate these tracks once imported. A Logic user that I work with showed me how, as with Garage Band, he can import an Apple Loop which will automatically adjust to the sequence tempo (something that I know DP can do with 'regular' sound files), but he can then set the key of the file to match his song. I'd love to know how to do this, but have been unable to find out if it is even possible in DP. Thanks in advance for any help.

Hey, Dickie. Listen, Apple Loops only works as far as tempo change, not with transposition. It only works that way in Logic 7 and Garageband. If you hightlight the loops and select "Adjust Soundbites to Sequence Tempo", or "Adust Sequence Tempo to Soundbites" and the loop will adjust to the new tempo. As far as transposition, you would just have to use time and pitch expansion, but not too much. I feel the Apple Loop function that MOTU claims is a bit overated. Mach Five vers 2 may increase functionality. Hey, stay away from Kontakt 2 for the moment--bug city.
You're Pal,

I'm running 4.52. How do you preview and intsall loops? I've only been able to go to the finder, play and then drag & drop. Is there an easier way?
Thanks,
Bob

I think that's about it for now. I have written MOTU suggestions with a request for a loop browser, similar to what Logic 7 Express has or even Garageband. If a few hundred of us write them to request such a feature, perhaps it will show up someday? It would sure be nice.
