Anyone using 5.11 w/Digi hardware?

Not necessarily DAE, but the 002R or the Mbox2, etc. with the Digi Core Audio Manager 7.3 - or even 7.0.

4.61 is still not real solid with even the Digi Core Audio drivers for 7.3 (no external clocking available, for instance). I'm interested in whether 5.11 improved things there...

Although it might be interesting to see if 5.11 is working via DAE out of curiousity.

had it runing on my laptop

The trouble isn't with DP. It's the crappy Core-Audio drivers that Digi writes for their hardware.

Basically they don't expect you to be doing much more with them than using it for playing back iTunes and Quicktime (and running Pro Tools of course, which uses its own driver). I wouldn't expect anything 'professional' from them anytime soon.

Oh yeah...I'm not blaming MOTU for Digi's thrown-together CAM.

I'm just hoping I don't have to buy new hardware to use DP 5.11. It would be a lot easier if I could use my 002R. It works with 4.61 ok, but not great.

Unfortunately you won't get any more joy from 5.11. It won't work any worse though.

I originally bought my Digi002r to use with Cubase (since ditched it and came to DP) and having Pro Tools was just going to be a nice 'bonus'. Unfortunately no-one warned me about their Core-Audio drivers and I ended up struck with a very sub-par audio interface. I know your pain. I managed to get an M-Audio Project mix and it works 100% better with DP than the 002r did.

Sorry I can't be the bearer of better news.

I'm using 5.11 with Digi's CAD 7.3.1 on a Mac Pro 2.66.

It's not bad... Better than 4.61 was on my G4. There are a couple of pretty buggy behaviors, but I'm still not sure what side the blame falls on. Working on it...

I've been able to get external clocking to work - but not so well by changing setting from within performer. I've done it by launching the Core Audio Driver app, and making my settings there, then quitting and starting DP.

I'd like to see more function from Digi's driver, but frankly I do most of my heavy lifting with Pro Tools anyway.

Perhaps DAE could be made available to us 5.11/Intel users?

Try setting up Digi from its own app, then launching DP and see if that works.
