Ok -- I know this is a dumb question but i need help!
I'm running Logic Pro 7 on a Mac, with an 828MK2 and MIDI interface XT.
i'm trying to connect an effects processor - a digitech studio quad (4 in, 4 out) and I HAVE NO IDEA HOW TO CONNECT THEM SO I GET EFFECTS!

The Digitech only has 4 ins and 4 outs -- the 828MK2 gas 8 ins and 8 outs plus a left and right send.

What do i need to do? Do I have to give up one of my 8 tracks on the MOTU?

If your Digitech unit has digital I/O, you can connect it via the s/pdif or ADAT connectors. No problem

If it doesn't have digital I/O, you'll need to use the analog outputs on the 828 to feed the Digitech.

In Logic, just assign the outputs of one of your busses to the channel of your 828 that's sending signal to your Digitech. Then you can simply assign aux sends on any audio channels in Logic to the FX bus you created for the Digitech.

I assume that you are connecting the main outputs of both your Digitech and your 828 to an external mixer so that you can hear both of them at the same time. If not, you'll need to use 2 of the inputs on the 828 to monitor the wet effected signal alogngside what you've recorded in Logic.
