I am considering getting a refurb G5 from Apple. There are three models: Dual 2.0, Dual 2.3 and Quad 2.5.
1. Are there any known negative issues with any of these models with regard to using DP?
2. Do you need an adapter to run a second display? ( I have two Apple 17" LCD studio displays? Currently, I have to use an adapter with my Dual 1 Gig MDD G4.

They are all good w/ DP, and can run 2 monitors out of the box (you may need an adapter depending on which monitors you have but it'll work).

If your old apple display has the ADC connector you will need an adapter which converts to DVI and supplies power power to the monitor- I think they are around $50- $75.... Apple switched to DVI, which does NOT supply power to the monitor.

Good luck (and don't skimp on RAM!)

You can get the ADC to DVI adapter from Sweetwater for $39.
