when you boot from xp on intel chip.. is it as fast as a regular pc when running apps...or is it emulation software that lacks real pc functions and chip behavior..I'm coming back home to mac in January.I have tons of pc stuff.. is it even worth installing boot camp and buying xp? also..is it worth getting the xtra gig of ram..or can I buy it myself and install it...the same for the hard drives? by the way I was planning to buy a couple of xtra sata hard drives to install inside....OH.. what brand is the original drive in it and the dvd burner.. ? again is this stuff I can purchase myself..and just add it.. cause you know you can get a maxtor 7200 160gb for $60 after rebates.. please let me know..

If you are comfortable doing the installations, aftermarket memory and HDs are the way to go (unless cost is of no concern).
