Upgraded all my software today on my dul 2.0 G5 and Mac Mini (including the security update). No problems. I love sharing my iTunes library on my wife's Mini. I didn't think I'd like album art, but it is pretty cool as well. It would be nice if the iTunes visualizer worked on dual monitors, but at keast the screen saver does.

I always wondered what are the security updates for. Anti-virus?

I suspect some maintenance tweaks are included also, but I think a lot of this is to make updates to networking software and perhaps Safari in order to close loopholes and known exploits used by hackers.

BTW, I don't understand what kind of twisted mind hacks writes viruses and worms and purposely harms other users. I applaud it when they throw the book at these young punks with jail time because they thought it would be "funny" to do this stuff.

James, I have an interesting story for you. i cannot for legal reasons disclose the name of the company, but a very big company I know of and work with from time to time had a situation years ago where someone hacked into their mainframe and they caught him. But instead of prosecuting him, they hired the guy! He turned into one of their resident software code geniuses and has been with them ever since.

I don't doubt that there are quite a few hackers and virus writers who dream of a scenario like this. The majority are criminals, though, in my mind. It's a malicious act no matter which way you slice it.
