Does Radikal SAC-2K controller work w/ DP 5.1 on MacIntel???

Does anybody know if the Radikal SAC-2K controller works w/ DP 5.1 on a MacIntel computer?

I love my Radikal SAC-2K, and am using it with DP 5.01 on my old G4. I am about to get a Macbook but am worried that when I start using DP 5.1 on the new MacIntel computer, my beloved SAC-2K controller won't work any longer. Radikal seems to not be supporting the SAC-2K anymore. It has worked fine since the last Radikal driver and firmware updates a few years ago, and MOTU seems to have been updating the driver for it since DP 4 or so. I am hoping that DP also has updated the driver for the SAC-2K that is installed with the DP 5.1 update so that the SAC-2K can work properly on MacIntel.

It would be great if anyone out there can confirm that they are using a Radikal SAC-2K controller with DP 5.1 on a MacIntel computer without any problems. It would be a huge bummer to spend the $ on a macbook only to find it renders my $1,500+ SAC-2K useless.

Anyone?? Thanks!

My SAC works with DP5.1
I'm not on an Intel mac but I don't know why that would cause an issue.

The answer is yes and no. I am using the SAC2k on a new MacIntel, but I had to go back to using the MIDI cable instead of the special usb cable that they had sent me a couple of years ago. :(

I also spoke to several people at Radikal and they said they do not have usb drivers for the new macs and were not going to be working on that anytime soon. If you have been using MIDI all along then you won't notice any change.

Hello _

I have to see that the drivers for Mac Intel are not disponoble for this SAC 2-K or 2-2 _
We must wait ?

What is this special USB cable? Is it different from a regular USB A to B cable?

When developing the unit an error was made in regards the wiring protocol and a custom cable is therefore necessary to use the USB connection. No real drama as these cables are provided free of charge by Radikal and with one the USB connection is glitch free for pre-Intel machines.
I'll have to try my SAC with MIDI as I am hoping to acquire a new Mac Pro in the near future. The lack of a USB driver and the expected long wait for development (if ever) of one is a major PITA- - these are not inexpensive units.
