Indeed! I looked at MOTU's web site and didn't see any mention of DP5.12. Do you know something specific?

5.11 hasn't even been released yet. Sometime in the next few weeks according to a forum member who was speaking to tech support around a month ago. The 5.12 confusion may have arisen due to a few recent posts referring to "5.1" as "5.11".

Maybe he wants to skip the problems that 5.11 will have, and wait for 5.12.

But then it'll probably be better to skip that and go to 5.2, though by then it might be better to wait for the bug fixes for that and get the 5.22 fixes.

Call it 5.11, 5.12 or 5.386759 I was just talking about the next DP Update that Motu is suppose to be working on...

How about Sexy DP Six? Some of us would settle for MachFive 2...

My personal theory (and I have no way to prove this of course) is that they have only one guy who writes code, and that DP receives no attention while other projects are being worked on. This is the only explanation as to why updates take months instead of weeks. You may think I'm joking about the one-guy thing, but I'm not.

Either way, it is a joke.

Hehe...that's funny. So you're saying that DP is multithreaded but MOTU is not ;)

LOL..

that's funny dude, in that case, let's move to DP10 and skip all the effin problems to the point that we get that DP 10 chip inserted into our brains and have no one to blame for crashes but ourselves...lol

Hey... why should proof get in the way? I can tell you that you are quite mistaken. I know enough to know that at least.

I would be curious to know what has created and driven the "MOTU is a one man band" opinion shared by many here. I would also love to hear more about how many cats are working on what? I wonder how many people work for MOTU compared to Digidesign for example....

It is easy to understand how small company get's generalized into "one guy programming everything"..
I too doubt that is true, but, it would be nice if MOTU ended it's long standing policy of keeping users out of the loop of it's inner workings...

I have seen this policy create nothing but upset to unicron nation users...

MOTU might not be the giant of Digidesign, but one software programmer... cammon, a team of fifeteen would be small.

One guy to program it all. Poor fella.
I believe he's a multi-tasker; this apparently gets around the problem. :D
I've also heard MOTU gave him an 8-core transplant after the (unfortunately necessary) lobotomy.

It is said that the boy can program.
We await his magic...
