Multi-instruments in Reason not playing in DP

Hello Everyone,
Under re-wire mode I can assign a reason instrument to a DP MIDI track (have a DP AUX track open to route all Reason output) and can hear and record it fine. When I load a new instrument in Reason, assign it to channel 2 and set it to another MIDI track in DP, I can't hear the new Reason instrument.
Your responses will help.

Not too sure of your problem but you have two options:
1-
You make a mixer in Reason that has its main output to the hardware interface 1-2 and make an aux track in DP with the same pair in its input. You can also use a a stereo audio track with the direct monitoring enabled so that way you won't need another track to bounce your track.
2-
You don't make a mixer in Reason and any device that you want to hear has to be directly patched in the hardware interface in reason. You then need a separate audio/aux track in DP for any device created in Reason. Make sure that all the inouts on your audio/aux track in DP matches the output of the corresponding device in reason.
hope this helps

Have you set up a mixer in Reason?
If the first 'instrument' you create is a mixer, then all the instruments after that will be automatically 'plugged' in to the mixer and therefore go through the main reason output.
If you haven't set up a mixer then the first instrument you create will be patched to the reason main output and subsequent ones won't be patched to anything, requiring you to route them manually.
Whilst in Reason, hit TAB to flip around to the back of your virtual rack to check out what your routing is doing.

Do not have a mixer set in Reason

Did not create any mixer in Reason. All Reason instruments are routed via the same Aux track in DP (Mix Reason 1R-2L). However I then open a DP MIDI track to set it to the appropriate Reason instrument.

I'm not sure that you understand the audio routing system in Reason fully. Maybe you need to read the manual again. The instruments in Reason will only route through the same (Reason 1-2 (L-R)) output if you mix them in Reason first using the Reason Mixer.
You're doing the MIDI routing properly, so no problems there.

If you didn't create a mixer in Reason, make sure that the new inst. is connected to Reason's Hardware interface.
In DP you have to open another Aux track in DP and assign the input to the appropriate Reason instrument.
Got it working

Thanks Dwetmaster and Mr_Clifford for your responses. I am still new in setting this up and recording MIDI so please do excuse my ignorance on this.

Hi
If you want to hear many Reason instruments simultaneously without Reason mixer.
Set DP multi record on and use Reason outputs assigned to different Audio and Aux tracks
for monitoring your incoming Reason instruments.
I hope this helps.
