I am having problems freezing MIDI tracks from my JV1080 onto audio and actually I just tried it with my Kurzweill as well and still couldn't do it. I have checked all my routing which appears to be correct --- I didn't find much help in the manual about this. I create a separate new stereo audio track and highlight both the MIDI and audio track ---- then hit the freeze tracks and it goes into the freeze mode --- but there is never any information on the new freeze track. My plug-ins work great at this.

Record your hardware synths in real time.

NRumbel, jarok is correct.

The freeze function only works with virtual MIDI instruments like BFD, Ivory, Trilogy, etc.

Need any more help, just ask...I record the hardware synths this way all the time.

I already have the MIDI part recorded --- I'm trying to burn that part to create an audio track from the MIDI, so that eventually I can bounce the tracks into an MP3. So I am assuming that it is recorded in real time already.

You have to record the audio track in real time while playing back the MIDI sequence. Route the output of the JV1080 to the input of your stereo track, arm the track and record the audio, while the MIDI sequence is playing and triggering the JV1080.

You need to route the audio from your hardware synths into DP and record that audio in realtime.

Keep in mind that you'll have a MIDI track already recorded-- and an audio track (if all goes well) for the same instrument. You can't freeze a MIDI track for outboard synths as directly as you can with MIDI tracks for VIs.

I didn't realize that after I have the MIDI track then I had to record it onto an audio track. SO once I did that so far so good --- Now on to bouncing. (besides off the studio walls)
