Hi,

I am trying to gather some information about a sample of a heavily distorted guitar and I'd like to do some kind of spectral analysis of it. I don't think this is possible in DP so I was wondering if any of you knew of other good programs I might use to accomplish this...

Thanks!!

i think you can get free FFT vst plugins so you can insert on the track you want to analyse.
try this one, it should work great...

Right...but I wanted something static so I can take a good look at each frequency and voltage and let it inform some compositional desicions because I am trying to write a semi-spectral piece based on this data. Luckily I found a free app called AudioXplorer which seems to do the trick. It offers real time and static analysis as well as a number of analysis types.

Thanks!

The Inspector XL from Roger Nichols Digital might do what you're looking for.
