If you can't see the text at all, you may need to uninstall and reinstall it. Something did load properly. It the same problem occurs, call MOTU. You may need another install disc, and they are very good about replacing it for registered users.

I thought this was something about language selection of OSX or something like that... ?

Is this a problem with the original CD or with the latest update from the MOTU website? This was a known bug with an old version when used on Tiger...

This was not a problem when I first installed MachFive, it have to be after an update.. Maybe after an update of OSX if I remember correctly..
I have re-installed MacFive but nothing has changed.

Try deleting /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/MAS/MachFive MAS.bundle, then reinstalling 1.2.3.
Thank`s!

This fix worked like a charm. I don't know how to thank you enough.
After pulling my hair out for hours, reading the manual from cover to cover (I just bought MachFive *today*), I still couldn't fix the problem. After searching Wikipedia for "machfive", I came accross UnicorNation. Man, I'm glad to have found you guys! Thanks again!

help finding plug-ins

hi all, brand new to this forum, though i've been a dp user for a number of years. i just purchased mach five last week from a berklee student and he transferred authorization over to me and despite the fact that i cannot get through to the tech dept for motu over the phone or via email to confirm that the authorization was complete (since i cannot register online due to the fact that the serial number is already registered), i managed to install the software and authorize the ilok dongle (which, by the way, seems a truly idiotic method of insuring authorization).
my problem came when i realized that first, i could not open mach five as an audio plug-in in dp4.6, but i could open it as an instrument, even though the literature in the manual says that it should open as an audio plug-in. i asked the fellow i bought the software from and he said he could never open it as a plug-in, only as an instrument. so i figured, perhaps motu made a mistake and never corrected the manual (stranger things have happened, right?)
but then i noticed that i couldn't load any soundbanks or presets, etc. and each time i'd reselect soundbank folder, i'd receive greyed out text in the finder and nothing would come up in the mach five screen, so i came up to the forum to look for some answers and i found this quote:
carrythebanner wrote:Try deleting /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/MAS/MachFive MAS.bundle, then reinstalling 1.2.3.
which i tried, and i figured i was home free, but when i restarted dp, i had no plug-ins, except the MachFive MAS.bundle, and even then i still could not select a soundbank. now i cannot get any of my plug-ins, including the stock dp ones, to load.
has anybody else experienced this and if so, is there a way to get this all to play together nicely? i still have all the components and vst/MAS, etc in my library folders.
thanks in advance and sorry for being so long-winded.
