Logic Board or Processer?

Post by bilko »

Is it even possible that either could be shot when it will still work in osx? i.e. power up with fast flashing power button light, loud programmers tone, open firmware, and continue to osx. We haven't made the switch from os9.2 yet, but would like to have both options available(like they always were!). Did all the requisite resets, new pram battery, etc. to no avail. The latest opinion was it's either the board or the processer. BTW it's a dual 1G, 2gigs of ram. Any ideas would be gratefully appreciated.

This is probably best handled at an APPLE specific forum. Try OSXFAQ, or apples discussion forums.

Have you taken it to an Apple Store for testing?????

Thanks Giles but, no Apple Stores exist in our neck of the woods. Turns out, the logic board was shot, which I still find a tad askew considering it_will_run in osx. Well it's been going strong for 4 years so I shouldn't complain!
