Anyone answer a question about Melodyne?

Hey guys,
I was referred by one of you to Melodyne uno. I'm trying to get an answer as to whether or not I can take a stereo sound byte, call it into Melodyne uno and change the pitch, then export/save the modified soundbyte.
I've seen the demo on this software and it's amazing...but I don't need the highest priced version...just the need to change pitch without affecting tempo and vice versa....that's all.
Can anyone answer this one? OR...can someone refer me to a piece of software/plugin that will do these things and do them well?
Thanks,
Brian
