Hey all... I had a meltdown of my EPS16+ the other day. I'm experimenting with moving some of my instruments over to MachFive format using Chicken Systems Translator. Below is the original, real deal Moog Taurus I pedals sample I did a long time ago. Enjoy.

UPDATE: I found I had to update the Windows version. In the Windows version (not Mac) you can save directly as MachFive Soundbank folder. This is better preserving the character of the instruments. Portamento between notes of the Taurus is working

Enjoy!

Thanks James. I grabbed them and plugged them into my gradually amassing M5 vintage synth collection. They sound good.

Now I can finally perform my one-man "Hemispheres" show at Rainbow roller rink.

Kidding.

Hey, one stickler suggestion: You might want to build either a fade (say, via ASDR) or crossfade loop into the sample playback.

Yeah... if you want to tweak it a bit and post it back up here that's cool. Some of these translations are coming in okay... and some are turning out totally bogus as in no sound at all, etc. It's very hit or miss. I'm going to do more tweaking of them when I get more time and I've imported these. The important thing in the case of the Taurus is that the raw sample is the genuine article. This is the lower "Taurus" voice. I never sampled the higher "Variable" voice as I recall.

Hehehe... yeah, but this WILL give you that early Rush sound... like the beginning of Xanadu. :-) I unabashadly love that stuff.

(P.S. I have a old Crumar Orchestrator instrument that's to die for!)

I went ahead and tweaked the sample and looped it. I remember now the reason I did it is that I sampled it directly with the EPS 16+ and my need was only a one-shot sample and I didn't anticipate sustaining the note that long at the time. Either that or the loops got dropped in translation perhaps. Any way, re-download from the original link and it should loop now.

Thanks James, that's a really fun patch. Brings back some great memories. I'll have to find a way to use it now.

Hey, Jimbo.
The ape-man thanks you.

Funny thing 'though is that I won't be able to play this new-fangled Taurus 'till I buy M5 next year.
Oh, well; better to be prepared!

Thanks again, James.
