Triton Extreme & DP 4.5

Post by cmaxxyz »

hi everyone,
i have a triton extreme with and DP 4.5 and OSX 10.2.3. i am attempting to connect it with the triton's built in usb port but even though my mac recognizes it in "Audio/MIDI" setup it still doen not allow me to access the triton in digital performer. i also have a motu fastlane but that even does not let DP4.5 recognize the triton extreme's patches and so forth. please can some one help me or atleast point me in the right direction?
thanks,

I have the SAME problem. I recording engineer-whiz buddy of mine was here for hours last night trying to help me. I am trying to reach MOTU tech support for help. If I find an answer before you do, I'll email you.
In meantime, if anyone else knows solution, please help us.

Thnx. DAT

Assuming you have routed your audio and MIDI correctly from the Korg unit, you simply have to get the patch names into DP. Look in your DP folder on your hard drive for .midnam files (perhaps in the Extras folder). MOTU includes patch lists for most major hardware synths, which presumably includes your unit.

Now I had to do this a couple of weeks ago for my Roland XV-5080 but cannot remember how I did it, but it is fairly simple. I seem to recall you had to use a setup utility also in the Extras folder inside your DP folder. Search this forum and the MOTU site for references to midnam files. You might even find a tutorial in the Help menu in DP?

Sorry I cannot be more specific. I am not in my studio now.

I would call MOTU tech support and ask about the support for the Triton Extreme.

If it IS supported they will show you how to get it working the right way. If it's not supported they will know best how to get the most out of it until the patches are updated.
