Got a call from MOTU the other day asking me how my UltraLite was working and if I had any questions. I told him it was @#!$ great!
I was really surprised to get this call; surprised and impressed I should say. I have been using Motu products since Performer 2 and I gotta say they are a fantastic company, with fantastic products. Okay, thats enough kissing Motu's ass; I'll go see if I can find some problems with my setup, other than not havin Universal DP & MachFive!

Anyone else get the call?

Yeah, I also received a call last Thursday evening and was also surprised and impressed. He asked if I had any issues with my traveler and answered any questions that I had. Definitely gave me a warm feeling inside that I made the right purchase.

Do you live on the East coast as well?

I got one of those not too long about about my HD192. I'm really bad about filling out and sending in warranty cards and finally got around to it and this is what I get! :-) I told him I was happy as well, except for the fact that I thought they might want to do something to see if they can reduce the fan noise from the HD192. To his credit, the person I spoke with actually acknowledged that he was familiar with others mentioning this issue. That's pretty cool, as I have often dealt with companies whose reps feign utter surprise when well-known issues are brought up and it's infuriating: "What? Oh no... we've never heard about any issues with first generation iBook screens!" BWAHAHAHAHAHA

Kudos to MOTU for seeking out feedback. Along these lines if they find a new supplier for the fans in the HD192 so the thing runs silent, they'll make a lot of people very happy.

Fairdinkum!
Ya'll gotta be kidding! :o
I wonder if you realise how lucky you are.

FWIW, when I switched from ATARI to mac, my MOTU experience was disastrous. I bought DP 2.7/ 2408 MkII/ MIDI Express XT USB and Unisyn. Unisyn never ran once. Pleaded with store for refund - my first vapour-ware experience.
The Express XT I believe was responsible for 4 years of pain, probably as USB MIDI was a brand-new thing. I simply couldn't engage "record" without the mac freezing. Actually, make that "macs", as I went through 5 of them. I spent $4000 on RAM, $2000 on hard drives, and God-knows-what on the macs!

Imagine 4 years (including birthdays and Christmas) sitting troubleshooting most of the day & night in front of a monitor that makes you ill after only 5 minutes! Dang, I had HPV in my brain and my saliva was PH 3.0->3.5. Unable to afford heating, and going to bed & waking up hungry EVERY day, I found myself buying gourmet food deliveries in an effort to appease angry and unsympathetic shop owners! The very best ANY of them has done for me to date is offer to "look at" the problem as long as I brought my entire rig in. I have no transport. I'd book a lift with someone (anyone!), often waiting months, only to have the store reinstall everything and say, "There you go; all's sweet." (I did over 40 complete OS and MOTU installs).
I'd get home and it'd last anything from 5 to 20 minutes. I'm not sure the retailers heard anything I said to them. Actually, that's not fair- they returned 6% of my 'Phone calls so they must have heard s'thing! BTW, I also managed to achieve the princely sum of 15 000 freeze-releasin', troubleshootin' reboots!

Bad memories.... tip of iceberg. I must cut myself short here, as I've not told anyone the full story and goin' there sux. Suffice it to say I've not heard of a more sustained barrage of ill-treatment, faulty products, bad luck and incredible obstacles being directed at an individual who simply wanted to make music! :(

BTW, I've never complained to MOTU and "talk them up" whenever I can.
I didn't have the luxury of the 'net, for those who might have wondered!

Sooo, if you guys appreciate just a fraction more how lucky you are than you did a minute ago, I'm honoured.

Go da Nation!
