Waves 5 doesnt recognize settings done with waves 2.7 in Dp5
I had a G4 with dp 3.11. Now i upgrade to G5 dual 2.0 with 5.01, when i reload my old songs where i used waves 2.7 all is ok but waves 5 seems doent recognize the settings, the plugins are all there in the same tracks where i fitted but they are in default mode.

While I do not honestly know the answer to this, my speculation is that because you're coming from several versions many years ago....things may have changed so much that it simply doesn't recognize those old settings (a reason to always stay up to date). Again, this is purely speculation..... can you save the presets and recall them at all??
Thank you,

I think that is generally correct. I think I've had some EQs that retained their positions, or at least part of them, and maybe I was able to LOAD some saved settings, but the ones saved in the file don't seem to remain active. But it's been a while since I was paying any attention to that.TheHopiWay wrote:It's been my experience that OS9 waves settings don't translate over to OSX files
I would try Brad's advice and save the settings as presets while in OS9, then see if you can reload them in OS X.

I don't recall which versions but I do remember Waves always being a culprit doing upgrades and losing settings in DP. One I distinctly remember wasn't even an OS or DP upgrade it was a Waves only upgrade that trashed its own settings. That was in OS9 though.
I never did save each preset for recall. That probably would have worked as a (clunky) workaround, but slightly better than finding/keeping an older computer, getting the files to load and writing down all the settings!
At least their upgrades are expensive though.
