Can any one tell me if replacing a HD in the small Macbook is a drag ?

I did that same work on my Powerbook Titanium a year ago : like a breez.

But I've been told it was very long and picky on iBook and Macmini.

Thanks for any advice.

actually, it's not. it's very easy. in fact, you have to do the same thing to replace either the memory or the hard drive.
when you remove the battery, along the "walls" of the battery compartment, there are a 3 screws that secure a metal plate. just remove the screws, then the plate that they're holding in, and you'll see two little arms along the long dimension of the battery compartment (they're the memory release arms), and on one of the short sides, you'll see the hard drive. it has a tab on it, so you just free the tab, and pull the drive right out.
a website did a quick video of the whole process...very easy.
i just upgraded my memory...put the new stuff in right in the store (brought my screwdriver) to verify it worked before the long trip home.

The screws for the "L" shaped piece of metal that hides the RAM and HDD are really tiny! I had to go out and buy a smaller jewlers set than the one I already had!
