I know DP & Mach5 are not UB yet but will they run & function on a Macbook under Rosetta with similar performance to an iBook? Anyone tried it?

DP is Universal Binary according to their home page at motu.com.

This thread said, "MachFive can run on MachIntel with the roseta emulation layer. However it can't be run on MacIntel now because there is no iLok support for those machines yet. I'm not sure PACE is going to enable roseta applications to use the iLok as this could be a real technical headhache. You'll have to wait for MachFive II."

I have not personally used either of these on my MacBook Pro yet; DP & M5 are both still running on my older non-Intel tower... so I can't comment on the performance.

This is no longer true. I have Waves SSL running under Pace on my MacBook Pro.

You can't use PPC plug-ins with a UB application on an Intel system. So, to answer your question, MachFive will not work on an Intel system.

I also ran MachFive in DP5 under Rosetta today. I didn't see any problems. ProTools will not recognize it though. I can live with that. Still not leaving the sit-in.
