m5/sx3 MIDI problem...please help

when i open the m5 vst window my MIDI contoller wont sound the note but when i click on the sequencer it does. the red MIDI activatio9n light doesnt flash when im in the m5 vst window...anyone hjad this problem?

prob need to change the octave settings -up/down on ur controller. that should sort it out. also make sure M5 is set as ur output in the channel inspector in cubase.
