Intel Mac/DP compat. status

Running DP 4.5, I find myself in the market for a new computer (Mac), but am still confused as to the status of compatibility. Will DP run on Intel Macs? Via Rosetta? Is DP 5 MOTUs answere to migrating the code to Intel chipsets?
Should I just shell out more cash for one of the few remaining PowerPCs?
I bought DP 4.5 about 9 months ago, love it but feel hung out to dry by this issue. I e-mailed MOTU about it but got a "we are still qualifying our software on the new Intel based Macs. Check the web site for updates."
Anybody know which direction this is going, or have any suggestions?
