Did anyone get the 64 bit drivers working? I'm interested in Sonar with an 828. Does the 64bit Win demo system have the same firewire bug/issue or does it work.

I am trying to set up a similar system. I am especially interested now that sonar 5 comes with a free upgrade to sonar 6. I am currently doing quite well with sonar 4 on a win32 system, but would like to take advantege of whatever performance benefits my 64 bit (dual core) sytem has.
I havent been able to get the 64 bit driver to install. Not sure if its the fault of my xp x64 copy being a trial version or if teh MOTU driver has a bad wrapper.

did you encounter any issue when installing the driver? I cant get mine to install. So far the only responses I have gotten from MOTU are requests for more info about the error message and my hardware.
are you using the Oem of xp 64 or the trial version?

well over the weekend I redid my system. I wiped the drive, reinstalled XP64, then reinstalled everything else. I actually didnt setup win2k on teh 2nd partition. ran the MOTU installer, still no dice. So I went ahead and installed my old win2k and the regular motu driver so I can get back to work.

Both my 828mkII and 896HD worked for a whole 15seconds until i rebooted my PC. The devices were recognized but when I rebooted the PC they will no longer show up. The devices also no longer work under XP 32 as it seems the firewire is somehow fried on both devices. The 828mkII was working fine on the same system until I upgraded from XP to XP64 and had been using it for over a year. I'm a little disappointed in the MOTU support as we have been without a recording device for over two weeks now. Everything else works fine on the firewire bus so we have ruled out firewire failure and bad cable as only the two MOTU devices have the issue.
We even tried the uninstall...checked for unknown hardware devices and reinstall without any luck.

I am going to get this to work. I have been steadily making good progress on my DAW, I have both raid volumes mounted in both XP64 and win2k now. Got Sonar and Motu co-operating on the 32 bit side rather well. I can even record MIDI and audio at the same time. And the Powercore card is working. I even got DVDs to play back on my gaming computer last night! I will be able to use the number 828 and 64 in the same sentence in a positive way! I figure if I bug tech support for Motu, Microsoft and Cakewalk I will get it figured out. Heck, I am actually surprised teh 828 is still alive and kicking. I got it when they first came out. So I have one of the dead display models. So probably about teh time I get everything fixed I 'll finally RMA it for a good dsiplay, then get the black whatever mods done.
