DP5 in Europe

Hi Guys,
I was probably among the first who ordered DP5 on the day of being available.
I live in Holland, and DP is not very widespread. I see why: I still haven't received my update.
The guy who imports DP says he ordered immediately and is expecting the update this week...
well, I don't know if they truely 'ship' it, and if that's the reason why it takes so long... but I'm really wondering if Motu is apparantly not at all interested in the European market or the importer is not really accurate.
Any other Europeans having the same problem?

Yep - the UK distributers are pretty good. Shame no-one has ever heard of DP over here...

I think that's quite cool though.

And if you meet another DP user in the UK it's always cause for celebration, like meeting someone in the desert, 'Oh wow, you use DP too! What do you use it for mainly? blah blah ...'

Still waiting in Australia.
The importer wrote last week to say "Expect to receive copies soon", but hasn't replied to my emails requesting a purchase.
Hmmm ...
MOTU should ensure it's distributors are serious professionals.

I‘d advise you to hop borders and buy it in germany.
I got mine here:
www.ppc-music.de, ask for mr. Ebel!
And if you intend so, be quick, he‘s not going to be there an more after next week or so.
Otherwise,
www.musicstore-koeln.de ,
www.thomann.de or
www.musik-produktiv.de should be able to supply as well (didn‘t check that) and do ship to the netherlands.

I also live in Holland and I learned a few years ago (DP3) that it's a lot easier to do business with Musictrack (Motu software UK distributor) than to have to deal with the bozo's here in holland - they're not interested, charge too much and know too little too late.
Get in touch with the Musictrack!

Oh shake that b#*ß!
I was sooo looking forward to visiting the land of the Rode Mics without having to leave europe
And by the way, I‘ve already seen emus as well as kangarangarangarooos not even half an hour away from here, so Australia can‘t be all that far.
Dunno if this came out wrong but I was refering to the thread starter from Holland (aka as Netherlands)...

Yes, Musictrack are great to deal with.... once you are on their books they keep you informed about upgrades etc..... and they are a decent bunch of chaps!!!

Here in France, UM distribution, which is the MOTU dealer, is still presenting on its website the "brand new ... DP 4.5, upgradable to 4.61 on MOTU website (!). I agree with the post about "does MOTU really care about european market ?".

Hi here in Belgium
Still waiting and waiting. I must be one of the 3 users over here.
and we have the same distributor as in Holland. So...
Why can't we order directly from MOTU?

I live in Egypt. I can tell FOR SURE that i'm the only DP user in Egypt! ... I kinda take pride in that

... I have to deal with "digital recording? ... that's Protools, right?" all the time. No body here has ever heard of DP or Motu. Basicly because very few ppl here use Macs at all. The big studios that use Macs naturaly use Protools. I was attending an audio recording workshop a couple of months ago n found out that all the participants (including the swedish instructor who lives in Zimbabwee!!) use windows based systems! .... I had to buy DP in the U.S.A since there r no distributors here. If I had to do it all over again i'd still choose DP. I just wish things were easier!! .... just sharing my experience. I love DP.
