Ultralite, but no sound

Hi,

I have connected my new Ultralite & installed the software that came with it.

Computer- Apple 17" 1.67 GHz PowerBook,, 1.5GB RAM,
running OS X 10.4.6

mic connected to IN 2 ( mic's turned on), phones plugged in front , firewire direct to computer and AC plugged in.

Using AudioDesk 2.04
Ultralite is on.

Can't get any sound in or out.

In the System Preferences Sound panel, I can see the Ultralite (Port FireWire), but the Input says "The selected device has no input controls." and the Ouput it says "The selected device has no output controls."

However, the Sound panel's alerts & sound effects play through the headphones plugged into the Ultralite.

I tried uninstalling & reinstalling the software, but still no sound. I got rid of a Digidesign coreaudio plugin in case there was a conflict, but still no sound.

What am I doing wrong????

I'd be most grateful for any help.

try setting your audio prog to output via line 1 and 2 and plug your speakers into there. sounds like the same issue i had.

Thanks. tried that, but no go.

Did manage to play some imported tracks though, so I'm making some progress ... but no recording yet.

Thanks for your help.

In Audio MIDI Setup, you can set two outputs, the Default (which is the audio from all software) and the System (which is the beeps you described). You can also set the default input for recording, but all of this can be overridden in AudioDesk. I'd recommend setting everything in AMS to the internal speakers/mic, and making your settings in AudioDesk.

Does the UltraLite appear in AudioDesk? Can you select an input as a recording source?

Do the meters react to your input in CueMix?

Thanks, I'll try that.

Yes, Ultralite shows up in Audiodesk.
Yes, I can select input source.
No, meters don't react.
