Firepod with DP

Hi everybody,
Just wondering if anyone has ever used a presonus firepod with DP before. I'm looking into getting one as I am getting more into recording, however with a tight budget, the firepod seems like the best bet. Just wondering if the firepod works well with DP or not, also if it's relatively user friendly. I have used DP quite a bit, but not with the firepod.
Thanks a lot!

Bump. Surely someone's used this combo by now?

Quoted from the PreSonus Software Compatibility section on their web site:

http://www.presonus.com/compatibility.html

"Digital Performer - We curenlty do not recommend using Digital Performer with the FIREPOD/FIREBOX. We are in the process of certifying this software application."

Let me email my Presonus guy and see if there is an update to this, I'll post his answer here when that is received.

I know when I tried my Firebox with DP 4.6 on my 15" PB, it didn't work. I had read somewhere about changing the work priority or something but, I didn't really care at that point.

Yeah, that message from PreSonus's web site has been the same for years.

I have it, it works perfectly fine. Even better, it works fine with my PISMO on the road, allowing me 6 mic ins without a problem. I love it, nice and transparent, and FIREWIRE! Hope this helps.

Yes, but with DP. Right? I'm thinking hard on this interface among some others (including some USB ones).

I had it for over a year and was frustrated using it with DP. Overdubbing one or two tracks at a time worked ok if you had your parameters set correctly.
(low work priority especially) Never got reliable10 track recording into DP though. I ended up tracking into ableton Live with it, then opening the files into DP for mixing. It worked great with Live and was a nice compact solution when used with the right software. Decent pre's , good headroom, somewhat cramped controls though and no monitoring/mixing software.

I sold it (somewhat reluctantly) and bough the m-audio projecmix. I am much happier going into DP with it and now have software control as well as 16 track capabillity, thanks to the addition of the $200 behringer ada8000. The software mixer - monitor is also a very nice.

I found the projectmix on ebay new in box for $1,000 from a small dealer back east and it included the full version of ableton live 5 (worth about $400) which I was interested in purchasing anyway. It is still a good deal at the usual 1250. The other plus, is that if you ever want to got to the Dark er I mean digi Side - as in Pro-Tools, you can do that with the projectmix as well.

If you want a more compact solution with DP I would probably stick with motu product.

The Firebox works for me in DP, but I only record one track at a time.
