I know this is probably regarded as a really dumb question, but I am laying some really beautiful MIDI sequences. I however, have no idea how I can convert them into audio. I am sure it's probably very simple, but I can't find how to do it anywhere. Can somebody please help me.

If I understand your situation correctly: Check your manual for "freeze tracks" or routing and recording to audio tracks.

Are you using hardware synths or software?

More info will help. What version of DP? What's your configuration?

Thanks everybody for your responses. I am using DP 4.6 with software both soft and hard synths, Kurzweil PC2, Halion Player, Groove Agent. Freezing seems to work and another option I have been given is to record the audio output of the MIDI/audio module onto an audio track. I am having difficulty doing this without having to mute all other tracks and picking up the audio at my main outputs (analog 1 & 2 on a Motu Traveler). Any solutions

It sounds like you have a routing issue.


For soft synths:

For hardware synths, you have to arm an audio track to record, make sure the input column of the audio shows the appropriate analog inputs from the traveller.

You should not have to mute other tracks to record audio. The traveller should come with a manual showing various setup options, and DP setup options might be in there.

Thanks a lot, am off to the studio to give this a try. You are right, it's routing problem that I have. I essentially know where my signal is and where I want to take it, but am having a bit of difficulty understanding the instrument track and even the aux track.
