I was asked to edit an event for radio and kind of green on the subject.

I am basing my final edits on a clock or what I like to call the pie chart of the hour.

Any folks with experience regarding this endeavor want to bless me with some knowledge?

I know I have to have 20 sec per section audio free but is that 10 sec in the beginning and 10 sec at the end of a track (1-4)?

Did this a lot in the mid 90's.

You need to have silence AFTER the track, and the new segment should start with the audio in. Check though with the radio station or producer as some stations have specific requirements.

Also, ask them at what level they want the audio delivered. Some stations compress the hell out of their signal and need to drop program. You should be fin peaking at 0 db but ask if they require -10 or even -20 (video and tv standard).

Don't fret about asking the director these technical questions. Most understand that with all the different plateforms out there for production, there is bound to be confusion. In the end, you want to look thorough before the project airs, rather than a fool after.
