If I bought a Motu device that came with a new PCI 424 card, would I be able to use older deices that were used with the PCI 324 card ? .... In other words are PCI 324 devices forward compatable with PCI 424 cards, and if so , which drivers would be used ? ...424 drivers or 324 drivers ? .....Thanks in advance.....Jim

Yes.....you can use the older "breakout boxes" with the PCI-424 card. Just connect via the Audiowire cable, configure it in the console software, and you should be set. You'll be using the drivers for the PCI-424, as well. Check the MOTU site regarding Legacy PCI-424 compatability........

Its actually very cool. I used an older 2408 hooked up with my 24i/o for more channels in one venue. You get to use Cuemix with the older hardware! The 424 board is also much more compatible with PC PCI slots than the 324 was.
