I cant import samples on machfive!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Post by bbtodrum »

I know am doing something wrong, but I cant seem to figure out how to import different format samples to the machfive. Ive used the uvi extract(although is very confusing, because am not much into samplers, and i use the Machfive more as a synth) and it seems I can convert some sounds, but the problem actually is when I try to select those sounds on the sampler player itself. Rescan Machfive folder, reselect machfive folder, a question, do the converted sounds need to be store on the Machfive folder, because I ve done that, and when I try to open a part with the sound I just converted, it wont appear on the file browser. Other thing is, how does the drag an drops works?, from where should I drag the samples, from a sequencer, from the O.S. window? I've tried dragging I cant seem to make it work.

This is what i want, basic sampling, I want to take a sound I recorded on my sequencer, and I want to map it so I can have 11 more half tones of the same sound.... how can I do that? I want to take a hole library of sound effects that I have and I want to load it, so I can control it with my controller..., how can I do that?

Sorry chick:

Yes Ive brouse the manual, but probably not that right. I work with the M5 really well, don't get me wrong, I use it a lot, ive use like 12 MIDI channels at a time with the m5. !!!!Great sounds!!!!!!, but actually never been able to load another sound that didin't came with library. Since Im not to deep into samplers, sometimes the tech specs are a little confusing.

Ive tried to reload the m5 folder, and instead choose another folder(obvioulsy with sound format files), didin't work, Ive tried to drag .wav, .aiff files on the mapping keyboard, neither worked. Ill shut up now , and give my specs, jejej, sorry...

Hey,

Try starting with the UVI extract section of the tutorial, p-19, then, at step #10, skip to the importing info at step #15, then, should you get confused, skip to the chapter on importing at p-108 and 109. This is the only way I could get consistent results because the manual has some conflicting maneuvers if you follow just one set of instructions.

If this means you have to first make yourself a data disc of your samples, then so be it. Good luck!
