Sharp looking sharp! It's a crappy iPhone photo and hard to do justice to it, but in this setting Sharp just looks SO GOOD!

OOooooo James..... that indeed looks nice. Now why didn't I think of that. I love seeing a mod in action. And I love your enthusiasm for Sharp. It's a pretty cool feeling when you invest in something you care about, right?
Okay my friends. Let's see how the mods add to how cool your studio is....

Unfortunately I find it difficult to be creative in grey. It´s feels too strict and business.
I need earthcolours and warmth to be creative. So a Gold kinda version of Sharp would be real awesome.
Note: This is just a suggestion. As a matter of fact I´m totally happy with Gold Complete!
This is still my favorite DP GUI all time high and used every day.
It´s warming up my studio atmosphere like a fire place

Sharp started from Mellow...but it did change quite a bit. I guess that's why I have 18 mods...as diverse as the peeps that use 'em.Radiogal wrote:Unfortunately I find it difficult to be creative in grey. It´s feels too strict and business.

Andy, with all these 18 great GUI mods, DP has never been prettier
Even my clients are impressed by the looks.
That made me realize that beside me
, and my mixingdesk, the mods are a "bling" factor in my studio !!!
Gold complete for country/folk and Nigh for hardrock?
Now it´s easy to please them all!

Re: AmpGUI7 (now at AMPGUIMODS.COM)
Sharp is growing on me. I may have to install it! (That'll be... duh... about 12 or 15 mods I've installed) I have to agree with Andy that this might be a permanent DP default replacement. Personally, I can't use it all the time, as I love Gold Complete, Jade, and Oxidized too much to leave them behind. Oh... and Night. And... and...
Radiogal got it right when she said this is studio bling! It really is. And it's darned sure addictive.
Which brings this Mod addict the need to sober up and talk about a little fact of life. Unless MOTU puts Andy on the payroll, he can't do this indefinitely with every single upgrade and update. That's a LOTTA Mods to revamp every time MOTU makes a little move. So, I suggest that everyone who is enjoying the heck out of these mods, as I am, take a moment to assess the situation:
1) You probably agree with me that the mods just make you FEEL GOOD while working in DP.
2) It may rekindle some of the old love from back when you were just learning the platform, or when you were first getting some financial reward and status as a DP expert. It brings back that something extra.
3) Your clients and guests (or even wives, kids, significant others) find it very special, too.
4) What happens if it's not there anymore after, say, DP 8.01?
I can't speak for Andy, but I can guess that he will be much more inclined to keep them updated for the long haul if he's getting more than a pat on the back in the forum. So, I'm suggesting a reasonable solution, I think:
5) Decide what it's worth to you to have these mods. (and that goes for Andy or iPerformer if you choose his mods)
6) Make an agreement with yourself to donate that amount at regular intervals, or at least when upgrades necessitate updating the mods as well.
7) Once you commit to it, make it automatic and dependable. Then spread the word.
I think it's the least we can do to assure Andy that his time is not being wasted, and to assure ourselves of (as Radiogal said) studio bling, warming our studios like a hearth on a cold winter's day, or perhaps making DP the coolest thing in the shop on a hot summer's day. You don't have to make it an amount you dread or that you can't afford. Just make it dependable.
That's my suggestion, and I'm going to do my best to stick to it. (Andy, feel free to bill me if I don't get it to you in a timely manner when the next updates are needed
)
Oh, and one other thing you can do: drop hints to MOTU. I've done that already in a postscript to an email I sent, but will probably do it again in a more direct way. Not to overwhelm them with demands, but to warm them up to the idea.

Have just donated again in appreciation of Mellow, and especially Sharp which are truly gorgeous and a joy to work with.
And of course, can't thank you enough Andy

I just donated again.
Andy is doing such amazing work here and it's more than cosmetic. In many ways he has improved the usability of DP simply through the careful use of color and "Sharp" really exemplifies this. I find it inspiring and I can't say thanks too many times. Thank you!!!!

Re: AmpGUI7 (now at AMPGUIMODS.COM)
A thing of beauty. FYI, I posted about this latest mod on MOTU-MAC and elsewhere and gotten very good response. Only thing is that there's some confusion going on about whether these mods are harmful with one poster saying he installed a mod (not sure if it was in the pre-supplemental folder days) and then had strange problems and then deleted the DP app that was modded and STILL had problems. He's successfully spooked a few people that I know, and it baffles me because there's no logical reason for that to happen. Ahhh, well... I get to enjoy it anyway!

Wow, he's definitely a one of a kind case. I've had zero reports of maladies caused by the mods. I mean ZERO. Usually if there is a problem it's just an oops by me and fixed in a jiff...no real damage. Tell the ones you are in contact with that his problems lie elsewhere.

BTW, what is the parameter (I should look it up in the reference, huh?) to change in order to change the color of the checked check boxes in the Prefs panels from the bright green to the same teal color used in the fader levels? Inquiring minds...
