The 'digital' sign actually serves as a reminder to all studio personnel that all buttons, levers, and valves, are to be pressed by a finger, as opposed to the hard edge of the hand (as in a karate chop), or worse, a blunt instrument. The correct technique is as illustrated below

I hadn't posted to unicornation for awhile, and for some reason I had to
create a new account here. So, to celebrate my "born again" status, I'll
revive this thread. Not shown: the other two walls (duh) and the drum/iso
room. DP on the main monitors, natch. (There's a bigger version of this
pic on the gear page of my website.)
