Well, the lady at MOTU implied that it would be multiple weeks before we see any change. And she said it will appear on the website when it was time.

Well a few weeks is a very short time in preparing a major release of software.
I suspect the person you talked to will give this same response even if it's a few days away as MOTU's instructions, to hold off all of us anxious users that must be asking the same questions multiple times a day.
I suspect even if it's closer than multiple weeks MOTU would probably fire anyone who didn't stick to the scripted answer they must be told to adhere to. lol
I was given the same exact answer in late June.
I agree when it's ready they'll post it on the MOTU site ASAP. ;-)

Well, MOTU took the order from my MOTU distributor and said they will ship DP8 instead of DP7 that was included the order amongst other MOTU hardware and stuff, if DP8 wouldn't be to release within a week or so, MOTU would have sent DP7 without any returning email mentioning about DP8, as the distributor needs to get the ordered items asap to deliver to the music stores over here. That's my conclusion.

It should have been out in July. Something big must have happened to hold up the release.. but, that might be a good thing! There may be wonderful surprises coming. Or at the very least, the software will be solid and ready for the future, which I also consider wonderful.

It wouldn't surprise me if you got yours over there in Sweden first, before we get it here!

Hmm.. I wonder if they'll have it on Apple's App Store?

I'm interpreting Radiogal's report to suggest that DP8 is coming soon (weeks). I like that vague time-frame better than...

"Don't hold your breath."
"It'll be ready when it's ready."
"No one knows and anyone who says they know is a liar."

While all of the above may be true, I'm going to cuddle up with "soon".

And yes, I'll gladly be in the early adopter beta crew.

It's all hyperbole. MOTU makes the call, not some reseller anxious to take the money and say its coming soon.

THAT is the part that bothers me. Rgal is simply reporting what she was told. If this community is to be truly supportive we are obligated to both support real, positive reports and alert members when they're being lied to.

How anyone "feels" about the information is irrelevant. All that matters in this instance is whether or not the dealer was just making a sale on false pretenses or not.

Now if people want to embrace that - go for it. I've got a bridge in Brooklyn for sale if you're interested.

I mean a few weeks more of a wait,now.
I guess I'm getting more patient as I get older! lol
I'd rather wait a bit for a solid .0 version.
Then a not ready for prime time, rushed to market release.

It might not be your age, but rather something in the water. Maybe this is what you're looking for?

I'd call it baseless conjecture more than "hyperbole".

But this bridge... what kind of condition is it in?

Oh, it's beautiful. It's got like wood and stone. On top of that, it actually goes somewhere and I can ship upon receipt of your payment. I'll accept your copy of the DP 8 manual if you can ship for delivery by tomorrow. I'll also accept a PDF version but only if it's in Swedish.
