Ableton Live and Reaper both offer themes on the Mac.

Ableton Live allows you to switch between skins on the fly, not sure about Reaper since I've barely used it.

With the exception of Studio One, most of the 'new kid' DAWs offer themes and skins. I don't believe any of the other 'old guard' DAWs have such a capability, so this simple feature makes DP pretty hip right now compared to the other old fogies. :)

How many themes/skins does Reaper have? I know that there are two choices built in to the app-- that's all I've seen.

Don't know how many are available for Live? Do you know?

So that leaves:

Cubase
Logic
Nuendo
Pro Tools
Studio One

...without.

There are 14 pages of user-created themes on their site. Reaper is pretty community driven so this is not a surprise: http://stash.reaper.fm/tag/Themes

Live comes with at least 20 or so skins (They keep available the default looks available from previous versions). There are also a ton of skins here: http://sonictransfer.com/ableton-live-s ... hp?cmd=top

Ableton is a one-window interface, though so it's much easier to skin than DP is. I grabbed a bunch of skins for Live a few weeks ago and the quality of the work doesn't even approach what Amplidood, iPerformer and now MOTU have done for DP.

Yuup. Looks like DP is sitting at the table with all the "cool kids" now.

(I also see that EnergyXT offers skins, while the more popular Ardour apparently does not)

For the record, Pro Tools 8 allows you to change colors of some interface elements, though not the meters. The customization options aren't as deep as MOTU's themes, but they do exist.

I am using 1.1.8 and logged into my celemony account and there are no updates for me.

How weird, I am using three identical Samsung monitors and have been since about three years ago,, but when I move the Melodyne window to either of the other monitors it's fine... how weird is that?

Onto discussing the new DP7.2
sorry guys... :)
Dan
Could it be a color thing? The particular grey just isn't showing up on those monitors? Dunno. I just checked it and it's working fine on my set-up.

Phil
My third monitor is bad,, I have four but only use three. When I stood up, the lines could be seen so it is a strange thing with the monitor. I swapped it with my backup (4th) identical Samsung monitor and everything is good, except now I have a bad monitor :(

Speechless.....

Contextual menu's how did I ever live without them....

Theme's OH YES..................

Err this post has taken me 45 mins to write as I keep going back to DP :D

Also I'm playing a large document recorded at 96/24 and I had the buffer set on 256 with NO problems or spiking, so I feel some more optimising has gone on.

I love you motu :D

SDG&E is working on my power line starting at 10PM, so no downloading DP7.2 for me tonight. :(

Once power is restored, I'm gonna' give it a go under Tiger and see how she rolls.

You read that literally?

If so, be careful on your future travels through the internet!

(Edit: I fixed it for you, MLC. Check the original post again)

All we have to go by here are your words, bubba. If you want it to read other than literally, then you'd best state what you mean.

I love it when people think they have the inside track on things like the internet and how it is 'supposed' to be interpreted, and then use it as an excuse for their intended meaning not being understood by someone whom they think is not in the loop. I've been doing online communications since 1986. I understand the protocols - and the tricks -perfectly well.

MLC, If you read this entire thread as a conversation, then you would have seen what I posted just prior to the post that you took some exception to, where I said:
KEVORKIAN wrote: With the exception of Studio One, most of the 'new kid' DAWs offer themes and skins. I don't believe any of the other 'old guard' DAWs have such a capability, so this simple feature makes DP pretty hip right now compared to the other old fogies. :)
My reference to the "cool kids" table was a play on the references used in my prior post. One where I was explicitly giving DP Kudos for jumping ahead of it's brethren in regards to look and feel.

Also... "Bubba"?

I don't think you are not in the loop. Quite the contrary. You bring a significant amount of wit and wisdom to this forum and frankly, I was a bit surprised that you failed to recognize the wit that I intended with my post. Someone of your experience should be familiar with the positive and negative connotations that the proverbial "cool kids" table would carry.

Beyond that, the tone of your reply to me was upsettingly condescending and dismissive.

Ah, so that would make it like Logic 9, which isn't "supposed" to run on a
G5 but does.

I'll give installation another try tomorrow morning. This is indeed intriguing.
