Not really Kass.. Dunno why but I've been slackin' on getting DP 7, but I can download DP7.01? Has it always been that way?
I still have DP 4.61, 4.5 etc etc in my MOTU profile as downloadable.
Normal?

If you haven't ordered DP7 it seems strange (glitch on motu's behalf maybe ?) that you can DL 7.01 unless motu senses your going to order 7....Tonio wrote:Not really Kass.. Dunno why but I've been slackin' on getting DP 7, but I can download DP7.01? Has it always been that way?

If you have a repeatable crash in DP you should email the crash log to MOTU, it will help them find the problem.Shooshie wrote:I'd have to agree that it's the Nomad Factory plugins, since I've been messing around in them so extensively. BUT... they did NOT do that in DP 7.0 on the two or three days that I was auditioning presets pretty much the same way I am now. So, what's causing this?

Thanks to those of you who expressed your sympathies for my UPS delivery problems. I'm glad (but also sorry) that I am not the only one with horror stories about dealing with UPS (but the disappointing truth is that Fedex is often just as bad).
I just got off the phone with UPS, again, and it looks like my package is still being held by custom because of its "high value"... so I don't suspect I will be likely to see DP7 before Tuesday at the earliest. And DP6 has started to seriously misbehave on me this weekend...so I am really itching for that upgrade now.
Will report back when it arrives.

DP6 or DP7, I humbly think the 30$ upgrade to snow leopard should be answer to a lot of your questions.zed wrote:...And DP6 has started to seriously misbehave on me this weekend...

I've asked MOTU to use a different courier for Canada (I'm in Surrey BC) but they just don't seem to get it. My DP order was ordered on a Tuesday and according to the UPS tracking it was actually going to be at my place by the following Monday. Gee, this was great for UPS.zed wrote:Well it's happened again... and I am infuriated. Friggin' #^%*&#$^&*
I waited all day for my DP7 delivery, kept the phone line free, and refrained from leaving the premises to do errands. I counted the hours while I waited for that UPS truck, checking the status of the package using their online tracking, which reported that the package had arrived yesterday at the station and was on schedule to be delivered today, as previously reported.
Finally, 4:00pm hits and I am starting get worried. UPS almost always screws up my deliveries, so I expected that I was being screwed again. I call them up and find out that customs placed a HOLD on my package and it hasn't even cleared yet. While I am still on the phone call they update their tracking page to make my package show as being "in transit" with no scheduled delivery date, despite it saying just moments before that it was on time and scheduled for delivery today.
Except it was UPS so...when I started tracking where the package was, oh boy. They had it in customs on Friday (so Tuesday to Friday was really fast). The entry for Saturday said it was leaving the US, later that day it was back in customs (twice?) and then it "turned around". There was about 4 or 5 entries that had it doing the ping pong from customs, USA, CDN destinations.
Wednesday it was out for delivery and at 4:55pm, I got it. Fortunately I'm retired so being around for a couple of days is no big deal. But UPS? Ugh. When I used to use them ship some of our business products years ago, it was always a risky venture. Changing to Fedex was a pleasure!

Woops... I just updated my signature. I've been running Snow Leopard for almost a month now. The truth is that Snow Leopard seemed to have created as many problems for me as those that it fixed, which really kind of forced my hand in buying DP7 sooner than I expected, since I have to find out if the DP issues would go away with the Snow Leopard/DP7 combination.Dwetmaster wrote:DP6 or DP7, I humbly think the 30$ upgrade to snow leopard should be answer to a lot of your questions.zed wrote:...And DP6 has started to seriously misbehave on me this weekend...
And this weekend is a perfect example of the kind of thing I'm talking about... one moment everything was running smoothly, and then the next moment audio tracks start playing back out of sync, and then pitch adjustments were being ignored and audio was cutting out after restarting my Mac. Since I've encountered a lot of audio related issues, I suspect my 2408 Mk III /PCI 424e may be at fault, but we'll see what happens when DP7 finally gets here.
This morning UPS tells me that it still hasn't been released by customs and they don't know why. I've requested that Canada Customs contact me directly to explain what the problem is.
In an effort to get this thread back on topic, what is the current consensus on upgrading from DP7 to DP 7.01? I think I may hold off on the upgrade and just work with DP7 for a few days so that I will have a better perspective on any changes in behavior when running DP 7.01.

IN reply to your post Zed about SL dropping samples and glitching etc I've experienced that on the tower in 7. The same documents play back fine in 6 and Leopard.
I think this is a issue with SL and The drivers for my RME FF800 more so than one with DP, although I notice when DP7 is sitting idle the performance meter is spiking into the red quite a lot.

Yeah... my copy of DP6.02 was running more smoothly BEFORE I installed Snow Leopard, so it would stand to reason that something somewhere is not jiving with Snow Leopard. The installation of DP7 may not help to eliminate this problem, I am very well aware. I can only hope.kassonica wrote:IN reply to your post Zed about SL dropping samples and glitching etc I've experienced that on the tower in 7. The same documents play back fine in 6 and Leopard.

And my hoping will be prolonged, since the wonderful fellows at UPS have screwed up again. My DP7 package was scheduled for delivery today, and this time they got my address wrong, and have now delayed and rescheduled delivery for tomorrow. Oh my gosh, I can't tell you how much I loathe UPS. Lots of friendly workers on the phone, but incompetence at every level.
